Freedom School of Ministry’s homiletics course studies the basic principles and techniques of sermon preparation and sermon delivery, complemented by practical exercises. The course will assist the student in developing academic, intellectual, technical, and practical skills through effective preaching. The course will introduce the student to a diversity of methods and preaching techniques with the intent of helping the student identify “their voice” in the preaching process. When discussed collectively throughout the remainder of the syllabus, the sermon preparation and the preaching event will be collectively referred to as the Preaching Experience (PE).
