Chris Ryder is an aspiring screenwriter and director, while also serving as a Deacon and Ministry Leader at his local church (Freedom Fellowship Church, Woodbridge VA). At 31 years of age, he has devoted much of his life to the creative arts, whether it be through creative writing, illustration, or filmmaking. “Monster Daycare”, a short film entry in Washington DC’s 48-Hour Film Project, is the culmination of a lifetime of creative expression. Made in partnership with longtime friend and collaborator Tristin Briggs (Founder, Backyard Insanity Productions), this lighthearted comedy was written, filmed, and produced entirely from scratch over the course of 48 hours back in August. Now, it holds the honor of being an award-winning film, having earned the “Producer’s Award” at last week’s award ceremony at the acclaimed AFI Silver Theater in Silver Spring, MD. Chris hopes to use this success as a launching point for future projects, and hopes that his work will not just be pleasing to moviegoers, but to God Almighty most of all.

About Christopher Ryder
Salutations! My name is Chris Ryder and I have been privileged to serve in the ministry of Freedom Fellowship Church for almost 10 years! My current role at FFC is that of a Deacon and Ministry Leader alongside my wife Shannon.
I also serve as head of the Audio/Visual section on our worship team. I do sound mixing, video editing, as well as social media for the church. I am a creatively-minded person and I love using art to worship the Lord and serve His people.
I am currently pursing and growing in my Pastoral Leadership at FFC. I have had the humbling honor to preach, teach, and prophesy on Sunday mornings, pray and minister during alter calls, and even provide input on church direction and structure.
I look forward learning and growing with this FSOM Cohort!
